The Foundation of Joseph Hofmann was created in 1990 by Marek Drewnowski, Krzysztof Kurcinski, Marii Neugebauer, Jan Weber, Andrei Borre, Claudio Cozzani et Christian Orvieto.
The aim of the foundation is to promote the achievements of Joseph Hofmann, a well known Polish pianist, composer and writer. The foundation organises workshops, music competitions and concerts for young artists and also helps in their artistic development by providing financial aid. It also acts in issuing new recordings, especially of classical piano music.

Among those are: - Ludwig van Beethoven Piano Concertos No. 2 & 4 (Marek Drewnowski, piano, Polish Radio Orchestra/Tadeusz Strugała);
- Fryderyk Chopin Piano Concertos in Chamber Version (The Chopin Soloists).

In the year 1989-94 the foundation organized summer music courses for polish and international students in Naleczow and Dylew Castle, the residence of Marek Drewnowski. In the near future the foudation is planning to build there a concert hall and a residence for participants with the aim to create an educational music center. The well known chamber orchestra "The Chopin Soloists" founded in 1992 is associated with the foundation.
